Día de la Bandera
Flag Day

Celebrated in Mexico since 1937. this flag day was established by President Lázaro Cárdenas before a momument to General Vicente Guerrero on March 12 of 1821.

Known as the "Flag of the Three Guarantees," Mexico's emblem consists of three vertical bars green, white and red. Green symbolizes hope, white represents purity, and the red symbolizes the blood spilled by the country's heroes. The center of the flag, contains a shield based on a hieroglyphic used by the Aztecs to represent the foundation of Techochtitlan.
