Ladies' Recipes From The Road Stovetop Creations and Travel Adventures by Phyllis Hinz and Lamont Mackay Ten Speed Press, 2005 Phyllis Hinz and Lamont Mackay -- a.k.a. the Cooking Ladies -- are intrepid cookbook authors obsessed with food, RV travel and having fun. When a partner in their restaurant business in St. Jacobs, Ontario, died suddenly in mid-1990s, Hinz and Mackay realized that life was too short not to actively pursue their dreams. They sold the restaurant, their homes, and took to the road in an extended exploration of North America's regional cuisines.They published this cookbook, Recipes From the Road, and followed it up with Let's Get Grilling With The Cooking Ladies. They've continued travelling the continent, as restaurant consultants and food and travel writers for magazines and newspapers. |
