| How to Improve
Your Child's Eyesight Naturally
A Thoughtful Parent's Guide by Janet Goodrich, Ph.D. Healing Arts Press, 2004 In spite of the self-serving disdain of optical experts, Jane Goodrich's Natural Vision Improvement has achieved astounding success at getting patients and parents to drop their attitudes of helplessness and start taking proactive measures to improve their eyesight and the eyesight of their children. Goodrich (1942-1999) overcame her own reliance on thick eyeglasses for myopia and astigmatism after studying Reichian therapy and utilizing both the William Bates and Margaret Corbett methods for eyesight improvement. With a Ph.D. in psychology, she focused her 30-year career on helping people improve their eyesight. Her books on the subject include Natural Vision Improvement and Help Your Child to Perfect Eyesight Without Glasses. This practical workbook offers more than 90 vision improvement exercises that can be practiced by anyone, from infants to adults, and includes tips on how changes in habits, behavior, nutrition and the environment can improve eyesight. The book's songs, games and interactive play suggestions will help keep toddlers and youngsters focused and engaged. While the early pages of this book
discuss theoretical basis for vision improvement and the rationale behind
Goodrich's methods, the middle sections are packed with exercises to foster
clear seeing and activities designed to address specific problems.

How to Improve Your Child's Eyesight Naturally Fusion Fusion is binocular, or two-eyed, vision. It occurs when the messages from both eyes are used together by the visual brain. Only the images from the macula lutea are fused. Even though you don't notice, all contours and shapes peripheral to your small area of central fused vision are double. Hold the tip of your finger about fifteen centimeters (six inches) in front of your nose. Center your attention on your fingertip. Notice that all the other objects in the room, all the items that you're not looking at, are double. They will be double unless you are using the message from only one of your eyes. |
